January 27 Update
2 minute read
Dear Hub Community,
Thank you again for the tremendous response to our relaunch efforts. Here’s where we stand and what’s next:
Progress Update
Volunteer Response:
25 people have signed up to help with the relaunch - an incredible show of community support! I hope to schedule a volunteer meeting this week to assign committee/working group leads, define specific tasks and responsibilities weather permitting. I’ll send a separate email with the specific date, time, and location once confirmed. The volunteer signup form remains active for anyone who wants to join: https://forms.gle/L8pVk9UEYDmHGPth9
Property Acquisition:
On Friday, I submitted a formal purchase offer of $1,150,000 plus assumption of the $1 million EDA mortgage to Colliers for the current Innovation Hub building.
Alternative Location:
We’re also exploring Fire Station No. 1 in Argenta (723 Maple St, North Little Rock, AR 72114) as a potential location. The station’s firefighters are scheduled to move to a new facility in the coming months. We’re working with the city to learn more about their plans for the property once vacated.
Media Coverage:
On Monday, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette published an article about the Hub being for sale, the EDA lien, and our group’s readiness to purchase and take over operations. You can read it here: https://edition.arkansasonline.com/article/281805700344300
This public visibility helps demonstrate strong community support and our commitment to preserving the Hub’s mission and the federal investment it represents.
